Some time off ...

Last week the little one's preschool was closed, so I took the day off to be with her. I'm already one lucky mama to be home on Friday (thus having 3 days weekends). But having a day off in the middle of the week is pretty nice too.

So I took her to the (almost abandoned) zoo. I guess there were about 5 cars at the parking lot, but it was so great to have the place to ourselves. The animals are much more present on those days.

We spotted the snowleopards for the very first time in months, watched the feeding time with the elephants, walked the trees and were finally able to make a pic (the one above) in the Indian village without any other visitors around (minus the little one :-)

I love spotting new details like this elephant door bell, how cool is that? I want one of those, but I don't think I could persuade the hubby LOL

This replica Indian class room is about a third of the little one's class room. Our kids are lucky, even if they don't understand that yet. And of course she had to open and close the windows.

Try finding a nice pair of shoes in an elephant's size LOL The good thing about all this rain and snow we've been having, is that I can finally wear my rain boots I bought in June last year.

With this cold weather the elephants always have me cracking up. They don't like to be outside (can you blame them?), so they come knocking at their door to be let in. Which never works anyway, but they keep trying. They always remind me of our dog waiting to be let in after going outside.

We never saw the rhino so close as that day. First he took a mud bath and then he enjoyed the little bit of sunshine. So sweet to see him standing there with his eyes closed :-)

I always try to be in one or two pictures with the little one, cause otherwise she's going to wonder one day why it's only her. They are always my favourite pics.

And I'm lucky this week. I have the entire week off to spend with my little one. We'll be ladies who sleep in, have elaborate breakfasts and cuddle sessions, lunch together, read books, do a little shopping, have some more hugs and kisses, bake cookies and bread, basically just lounge around. Will I do a lot of blogging or designing? Probably not, but sometimes you just have to live in the moment. Sounds like heaven right now!

Have a great week, ladies!

love,

mama x
