Summer vacation ...

See that view above? That's been on my mind for days now. With the temperature dropped below zero, making it freezing outside, and a few inches of snow, I can only think of summer. Not that summer has been far from my mind. I never settled into Autumn and Winter like others do. I just keep longing to feel the sun on my skin, go on daytrips with the little one, wear something simple instead of a 100 layers to keep me warm. 

Everything I shopped in the sales is waiting to be worn for summer. I'm looking into pretty sandals to put on my bare feet and I just ordered some summery shorts at Forever21 :-) All because of this view. Remember my dilemma a while back about our family vacation? We finally made a decision. One that works for all of us.

Coming June, we'll spend about two weeks in Spain, to be more precise in Catalonia. I found a hotel up the coast that I can live with it LOL in a small town, not far from where we used to stay. We'll fly to Barcelona, rent a car there and spent 12 days at the coast. The plus is that we know the region very well, which is good with the little one. And I've made it my mission to find the hidden spots where all the locals go. Small, secluded coves and beaches like the one above, cosy restaurants with local cuisine and cute little shops.  All the while revisiting some old favorites. Barcelona is definitely on the agenda (I've been there already 6 or 7 times and it never tires). I just go to take in the atmosphere, have some tapas by the beach and wander the Barri Gotic. Can't wait!
